Cut the Mike
I think it was obvious that Romney did an excellent job at the debate. I do have one suggestion for the moderators of future debates.
Cut the mike.
Obama should abide by the two minute rule, and if he can’t, well then, just cut the mike.
Why are politicians given leeway when nobody else receives it?
If a person is a customer service rep for a bank, or call center, the minutes are monitored. On many jobs, employees are expected to work efficiently and rapidly. Companies have time regulations for their employees, and expect their employees to be able to manage completing their tasks within the time frame.
If a candidate for President cannot manage to coherently give a succinct message in two minutes, then cut the mike. If the message is a spin job that takes longer than two minutes to spin, we don’t need to hear the spin job.
I think those in the debates, if they really have an answer, can lay it out in two minutes when requested to by the moderators.
So, I have a request.
Moderators, please cut the mike when the speakers can’t contain themselves.
