The Irony Of It All
The irony of it all, the irony of the recent Supreme Court ruling days before the July 4th, traditionally the celebration of this nation’s freedom, is that the Supreme Court just gave away what caused the Revolutionary War to be fought for and won over. It basically gave away all that men have fought for…freedom and the Bill of Rights. The war was started over oppressive taxation, and now the Supreme Court has created an opening whereby in the future, we can have even more oppressive taxation and be taxed for “not doing” something. It is the ultimate betrayal, and again, the ultimate irony that when we should be celebrating freedom, we are actually closing the lid of the coffin on freedom.
As someone stated once, instead of the “land of the free, and the home of the brave”, it is America, “the land of the deceived and the home of the slave”.
Celebrating the Fourth of July is really a sham this year.
