Anything but that…that seems to be the banner of the staid Republicans…anything but that to win the election…anything but that…we will find some other way to win the election than by dealing with that pesky birth certificate issue.

Meanwhile, Goliath continues to stand up and taunt God, taunt the Christian heritage of the United States, mock morality and decency, mock statistics, mock facts, mock history, mock Congress, and disregard the law and the Constitution.

We need a David Contingency.

So who was Goliath and who was David? In this generation that did not go to Sunday school, a review is in order.

David was an Israelite, a shepherd boy. Goliath was a giant that was threatening and mocking the army of Israel, the point man for the opposing side, the Philistines.

Earlier in the story the prophet of Israel, Samuel, had been sent to David’s father, who was named Jesse, with a message that God was going to appoint a king from among Jesse’s sons. Jesse paraded his boys, except for David, before Samuel, but Samuel felt that none of the ones he saw was the future king. He asked Jesse if he had another son. Jesse said he did and said that David was watching the sheep. David was sent for and Samuel confirmed that one day he would be the king by anointing him with oil.

After this Jesse asked David to take some supplies to his brothers who were in the army. Now there is no mention in the story that David knew anything about what was going on, and of course, there was no one to text him on a cell phone to tell him about Goliath. So he went, and his brothers rudely greeted him, and asked what he was there for…meanwhile, David was focused on Goliath and how he was defying the army of Israel.

He found out that if someone fought Goliath and won, that the Philistines would become the servants of Israel. Likewise, if Goliath won, Israel would become servants.

David basically said, “I’m in,” and told the king he would fight Goliath.

The king offered David his armor. David tried it on, but refused it, as it wasn’t his style, he had no experience with it, and did not feel comfortable using another man’s armor and methods.

Instead, being an experienced shepherd boy who had killed a lion and a bear, he went to the brook, found five smooth stones, and proceeded to stand off against Goliath. He ultimately won the battle.

We see the same thing going on today. There are actually Goliath forces within the government itself trying to destroy and enslave all of America. There are egregious security leaks, there is “Fast and Furious” with fingerprints of the administration, there is increasing national debt, increasing unemployment, the spectre of ObamaCare, and all sorts of Executive orders to bypass the law and Congress…Goliath is taunting all that is near and dear to Americans who believe in the Constitution and the free market which means that they are not illegal aliens, not foreign powers, not Communists, not socialists, not Saul Alinsky radicals…but Americans who believe in the Constitution and the heritage of this nation.

Those who believe must form a David Contingency to remove Goliath. The process to remove Goliath is stalled in Congress and its committees. No one can actually get anything done, though it is obvious some are awakened to the fact that something must be done.

A David Contingency needs to coordinate and use its own way of defying Goliath. Like David in the story, the armor belonging to someone else, or armor used in battles past, may not work. They must find their unique way to win the battle.
