Don’t Mess With Texas

If you drive through Texas, you may see bumper stickers or billboards that say “Don’t Mess With Texas”.

That’s the attitude of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott regarding the UN wanting to monitor elections here.

Don’t Mess With Texas.

The problem with the scenario, and the problem with people who ridicule this and say it is the least of their worries, is that the way change comes is a little bit at a time.  It’s observation today…it is control tomorrow.

Did you gain all your weight in one day or year?

Did your health problems come overnight?

Did your business problems occur in a day?

Did your house get run down in a month?

Did the economy worsen overnight?

It is generally agreed that problems begin to accumulate a little bit at a time.  Being vigilant for liberty involves being aware of the little things and snipping them in the bud, before they grow any bigger.

One of the attitudes I personally dislike is the tendency to ignore and make fun of and joke about things like this as though it has no significance.  Because while you joke this year, the chains are tightened a little tighter next year.

Remaining free is no joking matter and we should not ignore anything that threatens liberty, even if it is still in a seed form.  Seeds grow weeds and weeds can be hard to pluck out.

I am glad that Attorney General Greg Abbott is smart enough to realize that this is no joking matter.
