God, The Declaration of Independence, and The Bill of Rights

God, The Declaration of Independence, and The Bill of Rights are all connected.

The Founding Fathers were cognizant that rights are given by God, not government.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

 

Incidentally, the “pursuit of happiness” according to historian Newt Gingrich, was at the time it was written considered to be the pursuit of “virtue and wisdom”.

Newt Gingrich, who is also running to be the Republican nominee, would be the best candidate as he does understand the historical sense of the Constitution and would help bring the true sense of the Constitution back to the forefront and consciousness of the people.

The Founding Fathers did understand the connection between God and liberty and individual rights.  They saw the connection between God, the Declaration of Independence, and The Bill of Rights. What government gives, government can take away. What God gives is an unalienable right.
